On May 21st, a key milestone was reached in the SmartStream project as RFID equipment was successfully installed and validated at Miranda’s industrial facilities. This joint effort, led by SISTRADE, IPCA and MIRANDA, represents a major step toward the digital transformation of manufacturing processes!
The newly installed infrastructure includes RFID portals, antennas, and handheld readers, which are being integrated with MIRANDA’s ERP system. During this working session, consortium partners observed how effectively the RFID system aligns with MIRANDA’s shop floor processes, simulating its use in a real-world environment for the first time. In line with FlexRFID objectives, the system enables real-time tracking of materials and operations on the shop floor, laying the groundwork for a smarter, more connected production environment.
This integration is part of SmartStream’s broader vision: to develop innovative tools that improve traceability, efficiency, and decision-making in the manufacturing sector. With the infrastructure now in place, the consortium will shift focus to the development and fine-tuning of software that leverages the full potential of the RFID system.
The collaboration between industry and technology partners continues to drive SmartStream forward—bringing Industry 4.0 concepts to life, one step at a time.
