As a recent European Factories of the Future Research Association (EFFRA) member, Sistrade attended its first EFFRA General Assembly in June 2022! Finally, after two years of postponing the physical meeting, this was a hybrid one-day event in Brussels, where EFFRA associates were together to shape the future of the manufacturing industry!
After a friendly welcome reception in the morning, the business and political agendas for the following years were discussed, with the short presentation of the preliminary version of the Made in Europe calls for 2023/2024 triggering the participation of attendees in the Q&A interaction. Following this, Dr. Željko Pazin moderated an exciting round table with guests from the European Commission in which deeper insights regarding the current challenges of manufacturing industries were discussed among the panelists and shared with the audience.
After a nice buffet lunch, the Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH) were the hot topic for the afternoon session. Firstly, the invited speakers presented the distinct kinds of DIHs, their characteristics and purpose, as well as how SMEs can benefit from being integrated into DIHs. In a second part, examples of running DIHs were presented, followed by a second round table covering all the aspects of DIHs. Finally, the audience was again invited to participate in the discussion through a slido-poll.
Besides the exciting agenda and discussions, the EFFRA General Assembly was also fascinating in terms of networking. Due to the the effort of our team, they were able to know several associated members and establish contacts for future partnerships. Saying this, we could not be more excited to participate in future EFFRA events!
